I just managed to give my computer screen a kiss of death by banging the table right in front of it. Now the screen has a flaring line in the bottom and it's getting worse. #€%€%!

hm, what would a 17" flat screen cost? Or should I forget updating my 6 year old mac and peddle up the money for a whole new cpu set? Wait patiently for the oldish but ok laptop that I should be having as a gift and survive with that?

My monetary situation is kinda sticky, since in the spring, I will either 1)graduate, be employed and be financially secured, 2) graduate, be unemployed and be financially insecure, but still getting more money that I'm getting now, or 3) not graduate, loose my student support and my studying rights in the university and be financially fucked.

So this isn't a right time to put 400-800€ for computer parts, really it isn't.

Dear me! You can't live without a computer! I'll ask my DH if he has any extra screens to spare at work.

Now the screen is looking better, so I'm not in a immediate threat. *crosses fingers* If or when the screen blows up, I'll either take what ever screen is available or walk in a store and buy one without much thought. You know my style in buying things, like täälläkö niitä levyjä myydään täällä? Saisinko yhden, kiitos... Not the most efficent way to buy things ;)

My DH says, that he has lots of extra screens, so if/when your screen will die, you'll get a new one with the price of a trip to Turku (about 40€).
