AARGH!!! fuck!

I received an E-mail that stated that some of my information was wrong in my E-bay account and that I should click this helpful button and go to the E-bay security center to fill the correct information in. The page looked good, but I got suspicious when they asked my name, my ebay password, my paypal password, my cred card number and a whole lot of things. I checked the url:

http://jedi.org.ua/imho/

The fucking page was a fake! And I had already written my ebay and paypal passwords in it, though I havent send it or anything.

I informed ebay about the page.

I changed my ebay and paypal passwords as soon as I could.

Still. I fell kinda insecure. Paypal is a straight line to my visa card. fucking shit!

I get at least 2 emails a day that are spoofs of ebay or paypal.

the most important thing to look for is both ebay and paypal will address you by your full name. they also will not have links. they will tell you go go to your account through the webpage (paypal.com or ebay.com)

just a little FYI

Yep, I was stupid. I wouldn't have normally fallen for it, but I had lived and breathed ebay for days when I got the mail. Unfortunately my email name is the same as my ebay id name, so I didn't notice that it was probably just the front part of my email that they were addressing me.

Anyway. I called my friend who does internet security and he said that since I didn't actually submit the form, it's highly unlikely that anything happened.

So now I have learned my lesson.
