Fist, now would be a good time to make that "how little I have actually donated this year?"-donation to the Red Cross or some other international charity organization.

It kind of irks me that thousands and thousands of people are dead and it's all "One Finnish has reportedly died."

Anyway. I spend the christmas with my sister and her husband and kid. Almost five days (friends list=skip 200), which I take as staying right to the enge of my welcome. We ate alot and opened presents and did others christmasy things, including feeding the visiting old relatives (not my relatives) and for a moment, our was the house of the hearing impaired.

I got a badge making machine as a present. Yay! Badges! We all need badges!

SeSa stories are up, and now that I'm home, this is the perfect time to start reading! Dear Secret Santa, whoever you are, thank you for getting to know my kink and adding it to your story!

AARH! I somehow fucked up with the final beta of my own SeSa fic and now I found out that it has at least four hideous spelling/writing mistakes in it! Nothing I can do to it now, but no wonder no one is recommending it. It would irk me too to read something that has "were" instead of "was" in it. *stabs herself with a dull spoon*

As you know, (or don't) I'm on a low carb diet and as a part of my christmas celebration, I changed back to high carb for ONE DAY. For that joy, I also got back 3 kilos (6 pounds) of once already lost weight. So that was that, and now back to the saddle. I wonder how can I manage that when I'm going to spend a week after new year as a house guest in a family that practically lives on bread and potatoes.

It's the same here. "Eight Americans dead. Hundreds of Western tourists." *rolls eyes* I know that's how they get aid and everything, but--thirty thousand dead people. Do nationalities really matter? They're corpses. Their families are dying. Meh.

And now we cry again. Heh. This is what I get for watching the news.

Yeah, because the westerns are the only ones really counted as people, huh? What about people in Sri Lanka? Sometimes it feels like people are more symphatetic even toward whales and seals than poor people with no connection to one's own community.

On the other hand, people have friends and family there. The news is just trying to get information to the families.
I'm trying to figure out if one of the families reported missing is from my home town.

You have a point there. It's ok to be worried, but I know there are people who worry about things like these and don't think twice about domestic violence next door.

That's true--but wow, the meme I started is already raising a lot, and other people have passed around links that've done amazing stuff too. This, lj, is a small world, but it's a representation of the best. *snugs you and all of LJ*
