(no subject)
Apr. 15th, 2004 09:51 pmWe had a Harry Potter meeting today. My science fiction society wanted to give an opportunity for adults to talk about Potter. I had been asked to introduce the subject, so I did. My thesis was that when you combine children's book characters and logic and an adult, dark attitude, you get one sadistic children's book. Good, sadistic children's book that you can't stop reading, yelling in your head about the unfairness of it all at the same time.
The best part was the end, when I and a friend stayed to finish the bottle of vine we had and talked about this and that almost two hours. You know those friends who are really great but with whom you don't have a chance to socialize with outside big parties? He was that kind of friend. I was surprised that we had that much common.
On the other thing, the vague promise of the big news about something something Chris Kirkpatrick has left me in a constant state of suspense. Please let it be a CD! Independent, only available on the net, whatever, I don't care. I want it!
