My love-hate relationship with [livejournal.com profile] kradam_ai continues: What were the odds that a discussion opening about how most of the Kradam fics are kept in this self-imposed strict, non-varying genre, was actually about a reader asking people to cater her own kink needs?

Um, hello? You can't come in to complain that the fics are boring if you are not ready to do something about it yourself. Write, or make up a challenge, inspire a kink discussion, something, but please don't go there asking after your particular wishes without even bothering to comment back to your comments. It's not your personal story-finders.

I was just wondering if anyone has read any kradam school fics. Where they are both in high school.
Or a story with a lot of homophobia mentions.....and not a lot about their time on idol.
or maybe a fic where one of them is trying to recover from rape?

*dying*

Because nothing says "quality" like *THAT* story set-up.**

I gotta admit, part of what I love about this fandom so far is that it's fresh enough that we haven't gotten to the obligatory cliche AU part. When we end up inundated with stories where Kris or Adam work at Starbucks/The Mall/as Mall Cops/at Wal Mart/are all assorted plants, that's when we have problems.

I am loving the hell out of that slave AU WIP though. I'd feel bad, but I already checked my dignity at the door before I got here (and also, it's well done!).

** I am sure there are amazing, wonderful stories out there that deal with rape. I have just never seen one. It's usually an excuse for h/c, done in a completely squicky and embarrassing way. And much like bandom, I just can't see American Idol being the format in which to combat that issue.

I love that slave AU, too! The funny thing is that I used to read these *super* blood thirsty Nsync fics from the same author. Like, kept-in-basement-and-raped-and-maimed -blood thirsty. Her MCR fic was already way better and now I'm so hooked and enjoying her slave AU.

So, maybe one of the future AI rape-recovery-self-harm-eating-disorder -wonders will be the next big writer - in ten years time.

...people wrote *blood thirsty* N*Sync fic? Oh man. I know I shouldn't be surprised, because popslash begat bandslash and we write everything, but still.

Stories like that make me so grateful I didn't start writing until I had been in fandom for a good six years. Not that I am ~amazing~ or I don't have stories that humiliate me, but I already had a sense of things you Really Don't Do. It means I don't have any song fic or awful h/c lying around, for which I am very, truly grateful.

That slave fic is making me break my "no WIP" rule, even! Of course, I am also nervous because my reading a WIP is usually a sure way to make sure it never gets finished, ha.

Another thing I need to get back into the habit of in this fandom is leaving feedback. I stopped after the bandflesh thing in bandom because I always worried people wouldn't want to see my screenname reading their fic, but damn, its hypocritical of me to want feedback and not give it.
