emmuzkaWhen I promised to participate the company's recreation day next monday, I didn't know that that would actually mean sports. The actual sweating-kind-of-sports are voluntary, but what do they expect me to do in the meantime? Hike? Sit in the cafeteria? Also, sauna & pool afterwards. Yes, I will fully enjoy swimming with my swimsuit model-lookalike female co-workers and chauvinist male co-workers. Yay. I might be a Fat!Chick power-bitch kind of a girl, but it doesn't mean that I would be entirely without issues.
Speaking of which, I enrolled to a high class gym today. It costs an arm and a leg but fortunately my employee will pay about a half.
My mother asked me to email her because "for some reason you don't seem to like talking on the phone anymore". I bet that she has already diagnosed me with either burnout or depression. Just because at the moment I feel like long phone conversations are tiring. So sue me.
Raised my 1M internet connection to 5M, without any raise to my monthly costs! My internet provider must really want to keep me for another year. :)
17 days left before my vacation. :)

Date: 2008-06-03 04:19 pm (UTC)It was nice when we merged with another 'company', when the boss went all 'yes, we at the other place are all very sporty and everyone has sport related hobbies'. Lovely. I like sitting on my ass, eating chocolate and reading gay pron. Anyone interested in hearing more about my hobby? Didn't think so...
Hope you'll attend to the gym --at least to sauna, swim and/or get cheaper massages or stuff -- so it won't be a total waste of money. Me, I have a key to the company gym. Have attended once.
Mothers!
I have in theory a 24 M connection. Not that it actually shows anywhere. :(
Whee! I has two months till my vacation. *is ded*

Date: 2008-06-03 05:46 pm (UTC)the connection speed was raised today. At least in theory. I'll have to test it if I'll notice any difference with, like, downloading the latest season of House or something.

Date: 2008-06-03 05:02 pm (UTC)In our company they organize those kinds of days often. Or afternoons. Of course you first do the work and then go and sweat. It's good idea for those who like sports and have energy left after a hard day at work, but not so good for people like me. Sor far we have had rowing a boat and indoors climbing. Both really make you sweat, or so say those few who took park.
Why not an educational trip to a museum, a dinner at the restaurant, sauna with some sausages in the oven etc.? Or at least why can't something like that be a choise. Why always 100metres hurdles or high jump etc.?
Our very overweight co-worked just complained the same thing the she can never fully enjoy those recreation days or evenings because she simply doensn't have stamina or even any need to go climbing the door with harnessess that don't fit and so on. I fully agree with her, since not only overweight people have problems with that. Everyone can go to a museum or a dinner or excursion to another company, but sports...not even our fit and slim nerds like it.

Date: 2008-06-04 01:28 am (UTC)Good to hear you have three hours of sports of your choice, though. That might be fun :)
Also, the gym might be fun. I used to hate going to the public gym because it was full of women wearing make-up and staring you up and down, not to mention the guys who did exactly the same. I tried out a private gym membership for a while, and it was awesome, because the personal trainers and the staff treated me like a real person trying to get into shape, not someone to be judged. Too bad that kind of a treatment had to come with money :P
Good luck with your mom, too...

Try to survive to the best of your abilities and reward yourself afterwards.
That's how I do it.:D
Yay for your weird mom.:)
