It's *that* time of the year, again!

I send a lot of job applications today. First deadlines were in the middle of january. for a summer job. Talk about headstart... the problem is that I don't have any media work experience and because of that have a little opportunities to work in the field that I'm actually educated for. Like, I can't have a job without experience and I can't have experience without a job. For as my previous summer jobs have been cleaning and such makes me look like a talentless looser. I am smart and talented! I am I am! You just have to teach me the job first...

*groan* It's a pain in the arse, trying to find a summerjob. I did a "tour" around downtown a few days ago but had no luck. The experience requirement is just ridiculous. In my case (since I'm 18), last year employers laughed at my face because I was too young and this year? "You should have at least two years worth of experience." Apparently I'm qualified to study in Oxford (well, in theory at least *g*) but not to organize cans of tuna on a shelf. Hmpf.

You don't have any chance of getting a summerjob through uni? Through your department or professors? In any case, hope you have more luck than I in your jobsearch.
