My landlady didn't like much my answer for her one month notice, so out of spite, she terminated the apartment's internet as of immediately. Sigh.

Now I have a couple of days left to make up my mind on whether I should stay or should I go. They both have their good and bad sides.

Undecided is a poor state to be for a longer time, I have noticed.

Sanallisella sopimuksella kyllä, kirjallisella sopimuksella ei. En kyllä ala tappelemaan moisen cheap ass nettiyhteyden takia. Kiesanteko on perseestä mutta ei varsinasesti laitonta.

I bought a place, but since it is rented, I can move in not before 1.10.2007.

Coincidentally, my landlady notified me yesterday that she wants me out 1.8.2007 from the flat that I'm renting now. So that would leave me with two months with nowhere to go but to my sister's place. the one month notice is actually illegal, so now I'm pondering if it would be better to move in a month to my sister's place or stay put untill 1.10.2007 and feel the wrath of the landlady (who holds 1000 euros of my rent security money and might be tempted to try to keep it if I don't leave)

Confusing, I know ;)

I don't know what your answer was like, but that kind of response from a landlady sounds a little... odd. Regardless of your tone to her, the law is the law and if Internet connection is mentioned in your contract and is included in the rent, she has no right whatsoever to disconnect it, no more than she would have the right to cut you off water or electricity.

And since it appears there are no more constrains of being "difficult", you should definitely stay and not make your life any more complicated by moving to a temporary place. If the landlady continues to give you any crap, you can always contact Asukasliitto and ask for advice.

Nah, the internet was an extra and it isn't mentioned in the lease. I'm not going to fight her just out of spite, since she holds a lot of my money and I'm not interested in fighting her over it like this one time when the landlady decided that our cats had scrathed the floor and she should keep the whole rent deposit because of it...

Landlady paid the connection. She didn't have to, she just decided that it would be included to the rent. And I can reconnect. I have already send the mail to the administrator. He just isn't thequickest in the world to react, but I'm sure that there will be no problems in the long run with the conenction. I just pay it myself.

What does the contract say? Is she allowed to terminate your contract like that? Usually itäs six months in advance if the landlord/lady terminates the contract. Rowanna is right about the internet connection part. If it's included in the contract, she has no right to cut it on a whim.

she could terminate it in a month if she would be subletting the apartment to me. she honestly thought that she was. However, I notified her that she wasn't subletting but re-renting the apartment. Subletting means that she would be re-rentin *a part of* an apartment. Instead she re-rented an apartment that she had herself rented, so it was re-renting. I'm entidled for a three month time because I have lived there less than a year. and the internet conenction wasn't mentioned in thelease, it was just an extra.

Ja tässä onkin suurin syy, miksi en ole koskaan vuokrannut asuntoa yksityiseltä (enkä varmaan koskaan teekään niin): vuokranantaja ei itsekään tunne lakia, saati sitten meikäläinen, ja yrittää vedättää minkä ehtii. Ei hyvä.

Mitä tulee katkaistuun nettiyhteyteen: kiusa se on pienikin kiusa - ja ainakin tässä tapauksessa pirun lapsellista.

Hum... Takuuvuorkra on mielenkiintoinen juttu. Onhan se jossain paperilla että mitä se itse asiassa kattaa (reiät seinissä yms) eikä vaan sillai että kun sun pärstä ei enää miellytä niin rahat pois?

Periaatteessa se ei kata normaalia kulumista, mutta en sitten huomannut ottaa tullessani valokuvia että missä kunnossa se oli kun tulin. Eli jos se vaikka keksii että kissa on raapinut parketin paskaksi ja minäpä pidätän nämä rahat tästä hiomista varten niin se on oikeusjuttu että saa rahansa takaisin. Nimimerkillä kokemusta on.

It asiassa nyt tänään loppujen lopuksi irtisanoin itse itseni, taitaa olla pienempi paha elää sisaren nurkissa kuin ressata vuokraemännän vihaa. Vaikka en kyllä lakkaa ressaamasta ennen kuin olen saanut rahani takaisin...
