Today I was asked to show my papers in a liquor store. (The age limit for buying spirits is 21) Admittedly, I did have my pink plastic pearl necklace and my green jeans on, but...
I get carded often.. its a compliment really. I'm almost 33 too. I was seeing someone who was 4 years younger than me, and we went to a casino with his folks. I was the ONLY one who was carded--TWICE even!
Maybe we share some particular look that makes it hard to decide our age? I dress casual, as a student that I am, but it has to go deeper than clothes.
Maybe theres a youthfulness about us. Ive gotten into conversations with co-workers, and when I tell them I'm in my 30's their jaw drops. They always think im in my early 20's--which is good sometimes.
LOL yep.. born 1972 :) LOL Thanks for the compliment :) Yes hopefully I'll hold off aging for awhile. Im such a big kid--thats what keeps me young! You could pass for your early 20s :)
But yeah theyre really strict about age with liquor and with cigarettes (dont smoke, never have-never will). Which is a good thing really.
I know a woman who was carded. She was like, "I don't have my driver's license with me, but how about if I show my daughter's graduation picture?" She got in...
Hey, consider it a compliment. Definitely better than someone mistaking you for your peer's mother (not that I have any traumas or anything *g*). In a few years you'll be delighted to look so youthful. :)
OMG, I look old as it is, I'll turn into a fossil if I ever start dating. *lol*
Meeps, I meant to contact you about the phrase/fable book, but then realized I don't have your e-mail address. (I'm a fool who deletes all old messages and never saves addresses.) I couldn't find it on your user info either. Let me know so we can sort out the logistics. :)
Heh. Three years ago I got money back from the buss driver when I paid for one adult...(over 14 = adult, if I remember correctly) I was 24 with a 'ample bosoms*.
