This is not a hate thread ;)
Sep. 16th, 2004 08:38 amThings I hate about lj
When people post almost nothing but memes.
When people link to locked entrys.
when people publish challenge and ficathon fics in their locked journals.
When lj spontaneously refreshes itself right after I have written a page long entry.
When either the writer or lj fucks up and for a couple of minutes, I can see a post that is supposed to be screened off from me.
When people use too small font and too little contrast between the text and the backroud. (I'm having this sin right now, but I'm working on it)
When people complain about not having many friends reading them, and in the same sentence, saying that they don't keep or read friends lists because the people in there aren't interesting enough.
People who beg praise and hunt fame.
Things I love about lj
I think about the fandom stuff, both info and media, as free gifts from my friends.
The feeling of sharing with and contributing to the community.
My habit of quickly formatting my life into lj entry sized stories.
It's the reason to wake up 30 minutes earlier and have your own time, checking your friend list.
The real time squee when something big happens.
When someone out of the blue gives you paid lj time.
The opportunity to peek in to real people's lives and seeing that their worries are just as big or small as mine.
Getting a better knowledge of our culture in the making via human p.o.w's.
Receiving fan fiction and pictures.
Making comments.

Date: 2004-09-17 01:52 am (UTC)But, anyway, it's understandable. When everybody seems to know each other in the friends list, it creates an image of one community, even within the friends-locked friends. Everybody is in everybody's friends list! Well, no. But it's easy to forget.
