I was a pinch-hitter and had like fifteen minutes to make the word, take the picture and edit it. my camera's auto-timer-thingy is crappy and it was like, "Grab the cat! Pose! Click! Aaargh!" I thought it was funny that my facial expression went with the word, but little did I know that about everyone else was smiling :D

What's funny is I am so accustomed to ONTD that I've always thought ONTD_AI was fairly fluffy and loving, ha. But at the same time, I am too twitchy to de-lurk. Not because I am afraid of it, but because I like being an anonymous in that fandom. I don't want to end up in the dogpile like I did in bandom, ha. :p

You might have a right strategy with that one. For example, ontd_ai has a shitty attitude towards fan fiction. I decided to not to touch any fan fiction issue there after the user running the badfic roundups disclamered her post saying that all real people fic was badfic...

That doesn't surprise me - ONTD is the same way. It's such a strange mix of fen and non-fen that bringing up fanfic always yields mixed results...I'm always reminded of that on ONTD proper when the ZQ and Chris Pine posts devolve into someone inevitably posting quotes from fanfic, and everyone else going "OMG LOLZ HOW DOES THAT EXIST SHOCK."

Though I suppose compared to some of bandom's asshattery, that's hardly the worst it could do? 0.o

That was SO CUTE! If I was popstar and had fans, that is EXACTLY what I'd want for birthday. It makes me smile and cheers me up even if I certainly am not him, and am not a fan either.

Ooh, an ontd virgin! :D

ohnotheydidnt is a popular celebrity and gossip community. It goes in the lines of D-listed and Perez Hilton gossip sites, but ohnotheydidnt differences from them with being non-commercial and having user generated content. It's also the most popular community in the whole LiveJournal.

I used to read ohnotheydidnt daily because I liked celebrity news. However, the comments are usually hateful. It's the community's style to hate everybody and call it snark. Everybody is a douchebag, ugly, too fat, too thin, a moron etc.

A few months ago a subsidiary community, ontd_ai was created for American Idol discussion only. That environment is much more friendlier, because the premise is that people love American Idol. It collects all AI news, rumors, twitters and such. It generated the Kris Allen fan video. It, too, has it problems, with agressive mods, hate compaigns against real people and certain fandoms, and wank (the community's two first twitters were deleted as an "inside job" by some wanker)

At the moment I crawe AI news and fannish stuff and couldn't care less about "John, Kate Plus Eight"-type of news, so I stopped reading the original community and read now only ontd_ai. The only places to receive pretty much all Idol information there is are ohtd_ai and a more sophisticated fan blog MJ's Big Blog (http://www.mjsbigblog.com/)

Haa! We also did another video for other American Idol singer. The thing was that he is blind, so we did a song, with people singing short verses! I was only a part of the choir, thank goodnes ;)
