Flat angst
Oct. 2nd, 2007 01:04 pmWent to the tax office yesterday to deliver the papers from my flat and to lower my tax percentage (because the mortage payments are free of taxes). Queued an hour to hear that I missed two papers. This morning I was behind the doors when they opened at eight, armed with an armfull of documents, and did my stuff in five minutes. Yay. Now my tax percentage is a whopping fourteen percent.
I should be painting my flat's walls already, but going to the Big Cheap Paint Store without a car is a problem. I would also have a chance to get the paints with a discount through a relative of a relative, but really, no. I don't have the time or the patience for dancing to somebody elses' notes if there is a possibility to go without. The time of my actual move is already out of my hands (because I don't have a car, I don't dare to drive in Helsinki and I only have two hands) and that will be dependandt enough, thanks. Maybe I just go the the small paint store in a walking distance. Although I will have to loan the stepladders...
Don't get me wrong, I'm truly grateful for all the help I can get. I'm just a person who sees taking free favors as surrending the control of the situation to another, at least schedule-vise. And even thinking that rises my blood pressure.
And I know how I'm going to paint my flat. It's going to be partly checkered ;)
