Mar. 4th, 2007 10:35 pmI found a new hobby :) On a spur of a moment, I went to a one-day bead making course. Yes, we made beads. Yes, they have courses for it. We made acrylic beads with millifiori technique and learned to make the holes to the beads and such. (it means that we take this Play Doh-kind of plastic and make stuff of it and then bake it on the owen to harden it.)
It was very educating, especially to notice how mad over hand crafting can people be! Most of the people were hard core knitting enthusiasts, or made glass bead works or something, and of course they all knew each other from the Finnish hand craft boards.. And I was like, "I bumbed into this when I Googled jewelry crafting" two weeks go." Our teacher was a some kind of legend in the small area of acryl bead making and very nice. And as it happens, now I'm all into it, ready to put hours crafting beads that will most probably end up looking like something what my niece would make in kindergarten out of Play Doh and not something that I could wear. Oh well.
Anyway, like a good litte hand crafter, I want to post pictures of my works. But I promise to not make it a habit! (posting pictures, I mean)
Here are the beads that I made in the course. They are actually more crappy that what the pic implies.

And, because our teacher had made black scull beads and they were supposed to be really hard to do, I just have to try making the damn sculls. I didn't even have the right colors, but so what. They turned out pretty good. Maybe I should try to sell them or something to get even with the supplies they took because it's not like I would do anything with cutesy pink scull beads...
