Dec. 28th, 2006 05:59 pmMy darling cat is sick again, with all the joys of urinal tract infection. There goes my new year plans of four days in Turku. Maybe two, so I wouldn't have to drag the kitty with me? Oh well.
And lo: Moron Christians who think that Wincest, homosexuality, and yes, women working outside of home are WRONG know how to (barely) write, too. (Link from Esorlehcar)
I don't get how all the people condemning wincest or slash in general have to be or have to mention being Christians. What, if one doesn't like fictional incest, it's only because they have a Christian upbringing? One can't come to that conclusion by themselves? Do they feel that mentioning that backs them up with some kind of authority?
I have a real life friend, a really smart woman, who can't read any slash because she mentally connects it with chan and that connects to real life child porn in her head. She knows how far fetched that is, but she can't help making that mental connection. (Also, she doesn't condemn other people for reading fics like that, or want to "protect" innocent fic readers for the evils of slash) So I *know* that it is possible to not like slash of wincest or the like, and still not to be moronic or bible thumping. So why only the morons rise to the surface?
(Oh and hey, I just noticed that both "Christianity" and "Wincest" are written with a capital for pretty much same reasons; they both start with a name and present an ideology ;)
