My Miami Vice DVD's came today. Region 6, can you believe it? Well, no mater, the discs still play wonderfully. Whoo! It's so 80's it's so cool! Big hair! Shoulder bads! Pastel colors! On men! Lots of bling and bare chests!

The series is pretty good for a 20 year old. Granted, the editing is a little sloooooww at places, but who cares. The men were uglier, or mabe just more people with thinning hair were allowed to be on screen. And there is lot of familiar faces. It's all "Hey! Jimmy Smiths! Bruce Willis! that guy from Love and Marriage!"

And then there is the smoking. Smoking, smoking, smoking. In the station, in prison, in restaurants, while on duty, after sex.. Always. And not one "Hey, those things will kill you"-sentiment thrown in. It feels really weird to see all the smoking going on. I want someone to write me a fic where Sonny gets a lung cancer. (but not Tubbs! Tubbs doesn't smoke!)

Miami Vice Drinking Game

- take a shot when a black man speaks with an embarrassing accent.
- take a shot when somebody smokes. Two if it's a cigar.
- take a shot when you can recognize a supporting character.

..guaranteed to make you shit faced in a few episodes...


In other things, I have a friend's cat as a house guest for a while. she and my cat had a mexican stand off for a while, but now it's okay. It's kinda funny when my Meggan tries to be threatening: the fluffy bundle of joy is as threatening as a angora bunny. Picture post about that is coming later ;)

Good TV Show.... I love 80s music so definitely it'd be a treat to watch. Alot of unknown celebs...and rocker guest stars (Sheena Easton, Phil Collins, Glenn Frey) on there too-- like my favorite Power Station. ( "Whatever Works" Episode: #2.2 - 4 October 1985)

Uh, I wouldn't mind seeing some of that series. Not at all. I used to watch it as a kid and had a fairly big crush on Crockett. Uh, yeah.

We have to schedule some Miami vice in :) The pilot is excellent, so are a few other episodes. Too bad they have only published the season one so far. I'm sure the situation will be corrected when the movie comes out next year.
