emmuzkaOkay, the reality tv thing crapped out. They called today and said thanks but no thanks. I guess they didn't want one with a degree on media studies. This irks me but at the same time, it's a relief. So my summer program now will be basically writing my b.a. to a more readable book form. And stressing because of my the new and bright unemployed-status.
Today I went to clean my old relative's (tm) house. This time I brought a friend with me because I knew that no one had lifted a finger in there after I cleaned the last time. God the house *smelled*. It smelled like a house of an old man who doesn't make a mess, but who doesn't leave his house, at all, and who doesn't clean himself, his home or his clothes that much, either. Have you ever cleaned a toilet of a person who abuses laxatives to make himself sick? Try to avoid it. Really. For humanitarian reasons, I should go and clean there regularly, but c'mon. The man doesn't like people. He doesn't like even me. He isn't poor and he could hire a city funded cleaning service for the elders dirty cheap. He just doesn't want to. My mother is the only person that actually cares about him anymore.
The midsummer is coming and here in Finland, it's a freaking huge thing. People seem to go crazy. They move themselves out of the city and eat grilled food and drink beverages as much as they can. I'm not so keen on being one with the nature, so going to Vantaa and barbecueing in my sister's back yard does the trick for me.
