Because mine tend to be greenish and look really stupid on my face that otherwise has a reddish tint when exposed to sun... And freckles on shoulders and arms - ewww! If one complains about not having freckles, s/he is probably those lucky ones who gets a nice tan without any effort or burning skin => thus, no freckly type.
I'm the type who doesn't get freckles but instead turns all boiled-crab-red when exposed to sun for more than half an hour. And no tan, either. When the red goes away it leaves this weird ginger colour that's not exactly a tan and looks especially funny if I blush. So freckles, any time.
I like my freckles. When i was little i only had them on my face but now i have them also on my arms even my fingers and some on my knees. The only minus is that i tend to burn if i spend too much time exposed to sun light. Besides, staying away from sunlight (or getting it only in small doses) keeps ones skin younger. =D I have always wished that my hair color would match them, though.
